Responsible Innovations-Bata’s Legacy to Europe
On the 22nd of April 2010, the Tomas Bata University in Zlin hosts the plenary session and the thematic workshops of the conference entitled "Responsible Innovations-Bata’s Legacy to Europe".
Organised in cooperation with the Zlin Region, TBU and the Local coordination team of the Zlin Region in Brussels, the event groups several high-personalities, politicians, experts and academicians to debate about the huge cultural heritage of the Bata Group in the Region, in Czech Republic and in Europe in general. Actually, the businessman who set up his shoemaking business in Zlin at the end of the 1890s not only revolutionised the footwear industry with the introduction of mass production techniques, but also modified the local architectural landscape and anticipated a series of industrial and marketing strategies, beginning with the use of movie-commercials to promote his products.
The conference tries to resume the most important elements of the entrepreneurial spirit inspired by the example of Tomas Bata and to highlight their impact also in present days.
