Forum for Outermost Europe
Brussels will host the first Forum for Outermost Europe on 27 and 28 May 2010. The event will send a strong political signal to reassert that the Outermost Regions are fully part of the EU.. The purpose is to raise awareness within the European institutions and in EU Member States of these regions’ specific characteristics. 2010 is a pivotal year for these regions with the current discussions on the EU budget, the future cohesion policy after 2013 and the new economic strategy for Europe by 2020.
